The City of Coventry

The city of Coventry has much to offer. From countless hotels, B&B’s, restaurants, nightclubs and bars, it can be the ideal location for a weekend break.

The University of Warwick is situated nearby specialising in Medicine and Mathematics. The university is well serviced by being within walking distance from the central campus and several driving instructors and driving schools cover the area for lessons. Kenilworth Castle is also within walking distance (albeit a long walk!) and can, in good weather, make a relaxing day out.

In recent years, the city of Coventry has enjoyed much external investment. Therefore several areas have seen a significant revamp. Ricoh Arena is a good example of this as there is now one of the UK’s biggest Tescos situated there as well as a large M&S, Boots etc…

The city centre is also home to the Belgrade theatre, which is host to many famous names throughout the year, with an annual pantomime during the winter months.

Coventry (like all large cities) is however not without it’s problems, with areas of high poverty and crime. If you venture away from the busier routes, it is not uncommon to encounter more run down areas, arguably less pleasing on the eyes (to the heard hearted) and less pleasing to the heart for the slightly more sensitive.

Coventry was once home (maybe still is home) to the Pete Waterman, who was Kylie Minogue's manager. He still has great affiliations to the city itself and has been featured on a number of documentary type programmes about Coventry and the surrounding area.

Birmingham City

I believe that Birmingham is currently the second largest city in the UK. Home to the Bullring Shopping centre and many theatres and vibrant nightlife, Birmingham is a real people magnet.
